Frequently Asked Dental Questions – Glenmont, NY

Stay Informed On Your Dental Care

Glenmont Dental prides itself on helping you stay educated not just on dental services you want to complete, but other aspects of dentistry you may not have considered. No matter what concerns you might have, chances are we’ve answered it before. Below, you’ll find a handful of some of these questions as well as our detailed responses for your convenience. If you have another question that isn’t listed, let us know and either Dr. Zuberi or a team member will be ready to help.

How often should I visit for a checkup?

We recommend coming for a checkup once every six months. When you visit, we’ll perform a detailed exam to catch any early signs of developing dental disease as well as clean away any plaque or tartar that’s appeared since your last appointment. If you need additional treatment to address dental issues, we’ll create a plan during this visit.

Will my dental crown look natural?

Our restorations are designed with esthetics and function in mind, so you can have confidence once your new crown or other restoration is placed. While we are happy to provide traditional crowns made from gold, we also offer Emax and Zirconia materials to create a natural appearance following your procedure.

Can I replace my metal fillings?

Metal fillings do not have to be replaced by default. However, if you’ve noticed issues with your amalgam fillings recently (i.e. discomfort, sensitivity, looseness etc.) or they are very old (over 10 years), schedule an exam with our dental office so we can take a look. We provide tooth-colored fillings to restore teeth damaged by cavities.

Do I need metal braces to straighten teeth?

It depends on your unique orthodontic needs, however, more people are eligible to treat mild to moderate cases of misalignment and crowding through clear aligners than ever before. Our dental office uses ClearCorrect, a product similar to other clear aligner systems on the market today. Feel free to schedule a consultation with us to see if it can help your smile.

What’s the best way to replace a tooth?

If you are considering tooth replacement, you’ll want to take note of all your options ahead of time. While traditional solutions like dental bridges and dentures can be quicker and more affordable than dental implants, they don’t offer the same longevity or function. No matter what treatment you choose, we’re happy to design a custom restoration to help you rebuild your smile.

Do you accept my dental insurance?

Our dental office is currently in-network with Delta Dental, but we also accept many other dental insurance plans. Please call our dental office directly to speak with our patient coordinator and confirm your plan’s coverage ahead of time.

Can I visit for a dental emergency?

Not only can you visit Glenmont Dental for emergency dentistry, but we accept same-day emergency appointments and offer availability after hours and on weekends for urgent dental cases. Even if you aren’t sure you’re experiencing a dental emergency, give us a call.
